After the Wake centers around the life of Paul (age 18), a teenage boy coming to terms with his father’s death. With his mother having fallen into a deep depression, Paul is left alone to come to terms with his grief, and new set of responsibilities, which entails raising his younger brother, Andrew (age 8).
